Backlist
I began my writing career self-publishing regency romances, because I love the genre and I had no more books to read from Georgette Heyer. My three linked novels, Fairchild, Incognita, and Courting Scandal, are all based on favorite fairy tales. Though I’m not presently writing another romance, I’m so proud of these stories and have so much affection for the characters. Romantic comedy is my happy place, and I’m nearly always reading at least one book in this genre.
Fairchild
Fairchild Series, Book 1
Love blooms from a single lie gone wrong in this Amazon bestselling regency romance. Mistaken by a handsome stranger for her legitimate sister, Sophy can’t help playing along… Good English families all have a house in the country with a deer park, a trout stream, and an army of gardeners. They should have a son and if it can be managed, he should be handsome. Cleverness isn’t important. Daughters in limited quantities are fine so long as they are pretty. Bastards are inconvenient and best ignored. It’s not a big problem, unless you are one. Unfortunately, Sophy is. Sick of her outcast role, she escapes her father’s house, only to fall from her horse during a spring storm. Injured, soaked, and shivering, she stumbles to a stranger’s door—Tom, a blunt edged merchant from a family of vulgar upstarts. Mistaking Sophy for the genuine article, he takes her in. Sophy can’t resist twisting the truth. Soon she’s caught in her own snare—and it might just be a noose.
Incognita
Fairchild Series, Book 2
There are worse things than being spectacularly jilted. Losing a leg, for instance, or getting shot—well, perhaps not: the bullet Alistair took fighting in the peninsula never landed him in London’s scandal sheets.
Captain Alistair Beaumaris never dreamed he’d be tossed over by Lord Fairchild’s bastard daughter, losing both her and her fortune—a singular humiliation that should have taught him a lesson. But when your luck is out, you do foolish things, like quarrel with your oldest friend. Or mistake a perfectly respectable widow for a lady of easy virtue.
Unfortunately, that kind of blunder needs fixing.
Yielding to his troublesome conscience, Alistair tracks down the elusive widow . . . but the only thing he doesn’t find is an easy way out.
Courting Scandal
Fairchild Series, Book 3
A dangerous bargain sparks a scandalous affair in the latest Fairchild novel from Amazon bestselling author Jaima Fixsen. Actress Laura Edwards has always concealed her past, but when a London rake tumbles on her secret she finds herself in a new kind of trouble…
A French émigré fallen on hard times, Laura took to the stage to support her struggling family, but now they want her to turn respectable. To keep her hard-won independence, Laura will have to appease her brother, outsmart a vengeful duke…and guard her heart from the care-for-nothing aristocrat who’s her only ally.
The Reformer
“A charming tale, told beautifully” by the author of Amazon bestseller Fairchild.
Love at first sight…
Mary Buchanan is a quiet dreamer, fetching pills for her aunt, and soothing her father’s monumental temper—which only gets worse when a radical journalist takes the house next door. Clearly, Mr. Samuel Brown will be nothing but trouble.
But when Mary meets him, locked out of her home and caught in the rain, she instantly falls for the handsome reformer. Together, they could have the happily ever after they’ve both longed for… if she can just get him to realize it.
Mary Buchanan isn’t keeping quiet anymore.
